You can solve that issue by using a "chrome amber" bulb instead of a regular amber bulb, such as this:

They have an externally vapor-deposited metal finish similar to mirrored sunglasses. I have them in the rear turn indicator position on my car. They work great--plenty bright but don't show as amber behind the clear/white lenses until they're lit:

I was going to suggest the same thing. I ran chrome bulbs in my Camaro after I installed clear markers. Very pleased with them

Thanks guys. Have to check that out. I went with the amber bulbs cause I figure there is some law about white turn signals. Probably should have checked. Appears I can have white up front but have to have amber in the back:

(b) Any vehicle, when required under subsection (b) of section 14-96e, shall be equipped with electric turn signals which shall indicate an intention to turn by flashing lights showing to the front and rear of a vehicle or on a combination of vehicles on the side of the vehicle or combination toward which the turn is to be made. The lamps showing to the front shall be mounted on the same level and as widely spaced laterally as practicable and, when signalling, shall emit white or amber light, or any shade of light between white and amber. The lamps showing to the rear shall be mounted on the same level and as widely spaced laterally as practicable, and, when signalling, shall emit a red or amber light, or any shade of color between red and amber. Turn signal lamps on vehicles eighty inches or more in overall width shall be visible from a distance of not less than five hundred feet in normal sunlight. Turn signal lamps on vehicles less than eighty inches wide shall be visible at a distance of not less than three hundred feet in normal sunlight.

This is my state but appears CA is the same. So some of those in a 3157 for the rear and I might be good to go.

Or red. Most states have similar laws regarding turn signals. I prefer vehicles to have separate amber turn signals like on the XJ, because it's more obvious that it's a turn signal in that initial instant when it comes on, vs red which could be a single brake light (if the other brake light is out). That's just me being picky though...

They're not zip ties, I think they are clips for the ABS line on the dakota, mine had the same things on it when I installed it.

Yep, when I ordered the YJ front brake lines for my XJ, the ones on sale were ABS. Those clips went right in the trash.

Changed the valve cover gasket, added an imperial trans cooler, and put my new tag on the front. Also cleaned the TB but it wasn't dirty.
