She's been running a little warmer than I like, so did a thorough thermostat-out flush of the cooling system and changed the oil. Better now.
And used her to push some guy's broken down car up a hill and into a parking lot.

replaced the a/c clutch relay, built a new suction line, charged the system( no explosions or leaks) still low on refrigerant but the A/C functions at least. tightened the drag link, found i have a bad unit bearing, new ones hear tommorow, wired a high fan override switch, developed a minor fuel tank leak, found out ive got some pretty bad axle wrap( i need new leaf springs bad) fixed my jetta again

Grabbed some tools needed to start working on it again. Everything was at my buddy's place from the tear down from months ago.

Those the bolts off the fender flare brackets? I busted most of them on my rear flares when I took them off. I replaced the studs. Bench grinder will come in handy for this. See Post #7.

Recently I'd been getting some wobble/shimmy in the steering wheel going over some bumps. Not death wobble, but if not addressed it would most likely turn into that.
Having just finished installing a transmission in another vehicle I was just not in the mood for getting under the XJ and wrestling with front-end components so I wimped out and took it to a friend's shop. They found a lot of slop in the track bar so a new one went in, as well as new sway bar links which were shot. They also noticed some leakage from the oil filter adapter so I had them replace the O-ring. (One less thing for me to mess with.)
No more wobble hitting bumps, so it looks like the death wobble has been nipped in the bud.

Surely you dont mean mine.
No, I don't lick fish.
Nope. Just happens from the brakes pads sliding back and forth on the knuckles. Over time, it wears a spot there.
x2 on that.
Well it's about time!
Truth. Been there, done that. Mr. Ralph, I gotta say, I am truly impressed with the amount of work you put into your ride to make it right. Mine is heavily modded, but with a purpose. Beauty is not one of them. I don't give 2 rats patooties if it gets scratched or dirty. Yours, on the other hand, I have a secret desire for. Would be nice to look good as well. For what I do, it just isn't practical.
Just shows to go ya, we all have different tastes and goals. You are doing some DAMN fine work. Keep it up.
