Also, finally got around to dismantling the factory running boards I picked up awhile back delivered for $75 and a case of Bud Light from about 300 miles away. The plan at the time was to try and take them apart, give the plastic to my body guy, they are green my Jeep is black, and POR 15 all the metal. Usually the metal is rusted to s@#t but these are pristine and would like to keep them that way. Since the purchase I have been reading a lot about Monstaliner. Wondering if this might be the way to go. Both plastic and/or the metal parts. The working theory in my head for doing this is I can touch up the Monstaliner from time to time on the plastic pieces if necessary. Anybody please feel free to chime in with opinions or ideas.
EDIT: So I started washing down the running boards and noticed inside the small sections that attach to the fender flares that it is not all painted in there and some of the green paint is peeling off. Exposing a black plastic similar to not painted to match the vehicle black bumper caps. Thinking if I could get all the paint off I might like them just like that. Googling around about removing paint from plastic seems to deal more with overspray and not factory applied paint. Some suggested brake cleaner but then it appears that with ABS plastic there could be a problem. No idea what kind of plastic this is. Any ideas on this?

So while running board parts were drying figured I would play with one of the map pocket door panels. Picked one were a couple of those plastic welds were broken already and chipped away with a pair of dykes until enough was removed to pull it through. Been thinking of buying a Dremel Tool and was thinking it would probably be nice to have it now. Anyway figured I would post a couple shots. There is more surface area then I thought there would be to double sided tape them to my door panels. With a Dremel Tool I could probably save all the cylinders (see the second picture), assuming none are broken in the first place, drill holes in my door panel, and screw them in. Thing is I have commitment issues. Hence the double sided tape. Just grind down all those little cylinders, some 3M Adhesion Promoter (already bought some), and attach.

Day 2 of my SYE install:
Top driver's side bolt is not budging as well as the middle and top passenger side bolts. They are currently soaking in PB blaster. My hands hurt.

Cleaned the Son In Laws shed out( he would do it when hell frezzes over) put a bunch of His and most importantly, My stuff in there.
(X2 beer frigs, snow blowr, outboard motor, bikes, car parts etc etc)
Moved 20 tire stack (some tires are junk but I want the Jeep rims), lawn furniture to deck, garden planters to garden, junk to dump.
Daughthter #1 arrives for snow tires change on the Renegade, how bout some custom colour match wheel centers. Dad's customs, ta da! On your way.
Now I have room to work on the XJ! Man Cave revisited!
Wife came home from work and parked her car in my cave.
Aparently I was supposed to be preparing dinner.
At least I made desert, my best yet!
Oh well, beer and BBQ are workin. Next week, the XJ moves in. Now have the room I need for axle pulls n stuff, n more stuff, and a little more stuff.
Everybody else can stuff it.
Overall for Dog and I; It's been a great week end!

itll smoke the tires unintentionally as well, i may have drifted it around a couple corners haha
loving it so far, meed to get A/C going soon tho its already 90*+ down here

Anyways went to fab up some adaptors and mount the power ZJ seat in the XJ, the furthest I got on that was taking the seat out...2 days later:

got home from my second job today and started swapping in the 97+ console and e-brake lever.
fitting the 97 ebrake handle and meshing it to the 96 cable was a bigger pain than i thought it was going to be. for one the mounting holes aren't in the right spot, the rear ones a bit to far back, and the front one is was too forward. and the cables are completely different. ended up using the factory 96 rear mounting hole and cutting apart the 96 ebrake handle for the and welding it on the front of the 97 in line with the front 96 mounting hole, then i cut the "hook" apart and opening it to loop and "crimped" it on to the 96 cable trap.
PITA
also got the chevy shift boot bolted up over the lokar shifter, it dosen't fit perfect but its sealed up and hopefully will keep so much heat from rising up from the trans tunnel
sorry im lacking in pics, i was moving fast trying to beat night fall
