It's an ego stroked, inaccurate article. Don't waste your time

Maybe not all but around here I've seen clean stock XJs go for 10 or 11 grand. I've seen beat to hell running modded XJs go for 5 grand or more and even one that flopped on a trail pull in 2500. The only exception is when people are selling XJs and not really knowing what they have it seems.
IMO this guy may be full of himself but the era of the cheap disposable XJ is coming to an end.

Trust me, I live in the Capitol of overpriced XJs, and have seen people ask 20k, doesn't mean they're getting that. Average asking prices out here vary from 4-7k, with several reaching 10k from time to time. What people ask is a lot different than what they get.
That's still a huge disconnect from the 2k that KBB says it's worth, lol

When I was stationed in Cali (up to 2016) there were cheap stock XJs everywhere. The one's people wanted money for were the modded ones. I'm sure that's changed in 2 years.

Totally agree. Like he alone is responsible for the XJ's popularity and longevity. Bull****. Lots of big words and fawning sentences. Yuk. Aside from being untrue, of course. CNN is looking for reporters..............

The author says that forums have taught him how to "communicate economically". If that's the case he should STFU, stop talking about himself and tell us what he knows about XJ's … which isn't much.

I'll add this, yes, a few documented examples of 10k plus sales exist online, but they are few and far between. So, yes there are people out of their minds out there, But fools and their money dot dot dot, am I right Morty? LOL
