Lots of trimming, and bump stops. You wont have much travel, and you will have to do gears, so, cheap...in a word, no!!

I had a similar question so, I hope you guys forgive me for not starting a new thread to ask it.

We have a 97 Grand Cherokee Jeep which I JUST PURCHASED and installed 30" BFG Mud, will I "NEED" to change gears now?

I took it over the highway @ 60 and the speedo did NOT change. As a matter of fact it fixed the speedo to be accurate now.. lol

Oh, by the way, the factory wheels(with tires) are for sale now... Looking for offer.

35's on an xj is a major job. You can't just lift it enough or lift it a little and trim and be okay. There's alot more involved to make it actually trail worthy or even street worthy. 35's are just to big for the stock axles to handle. The 35 is known to break under pressure with just some 33. To run 35's you should upgrade to at least a d44 in the rear and possibly in the front as well. Or you could do d44 front and 9 rear to make it work well. But if your just looking for a street rig you at the very least need to regear so it can get out of its own way.

ok then, i have 8.25 rear d30 front and if i re gear it what gears and would a 4.5in lift work better with fender flares?
