Vertical rectangle in dash?
I tried doing a search and looking through the factory service manual on my 98 with no luck.
On 97+ XJ's, if you look to the right of the instrument cluster, on the bezel, there is a roughly 3/4" wide by 3" tall "outline" molded into the plastic. I can't find out what it is for. I assume some sort a switch or indicator lights. Maybe even something only used in foreign markets? Anyone have any ideas? It's stupid, and I don't really intend to do anything with that space, but it's driving my OCD crazy not knowing what it's for! |
Its a DYFCTTFIO panel.

On Europen Diesel verisons there are lights there. Here, however, we put our own switches there
