Hey guys, thinking about selling my current xj. Mainly to start over with a stock rig and build it with quality parts and my knowledge of vehicles. I want to get an accurate estimate of what mine is actually worth right now.

2000 XJ Sport 4.0 AW4 152k miles
4" lift (front has coils, sway bar end links, LCAs) (rear has short and long AAL with .75" IRO HD shackle)
SYE w/ CV driveshaft
Dana 30 HP from a '96 w/ 760X u-joints
Chrysler 8.25" 29 spline
Spydertrax 1.25" spacer adaptors
17" JK Rubicon wheels with 255/75 BFG M/T rubber and matching spare
783 injectors
IRO 2.5" cat-back exhaust
180℉ t-stat
Brand new radiator
Tube type external transmission cooler
2- 10w LED pods on stock front bumper

Now, the only bad part about it is that the paint is fairly scratched, looks good from 10 feet away. Driver front quarter is a little wrinkled and behind driver door is a dent as well as on the rear hatch. Otherwise its a great jeep, has cruise, ac needs a charge, but has power locks, windows and even heated mirrors(woohoo!). Has a 400w power inverter hard wired under the driver seat. Also has a 6 month old Sony head unit and 4 brand new speakers.

Is $4500 the right asking price?

The app won't load pics, I'll try again in a bit.

Sounds good to me... fair market value fluctuates with demography, and naturally, supply and demand..

but I can see 4.5k...

I feel like 4500 is fairly priced here considering this 2000 with a salvage title is asking 4800..

I definitely see you getting $4500 for that. There's certainly a buyer out there wiling to pay that
Personally I'd ask $5500 for it or $5000 and haggle down to $4300 or whatever your bottom line is

Thanks, that's pretty much how I'm going about it. I keep getting offers for poor trades like an 86 bronco and 2k cash but that's no xj! I've decided if I don't get what I want for it there's no reason to get rid of it.. meanwhile I've got a set of 4.11s about ready to be installed

There is no way to know. In DC area, you'd possibly get $6500.

Just ask what you want, see if it sells, if not, drop the price. There is no law that says you can't ask for a high price and either negotiate.

And no offense to the forum members, but members here low ball because they have a vested interest. But as I have found, market value is often much higher than suggested on the forum because there are a ton of buyers that want a Jeep like yours and if there isn't much on the market, higher demand means higher prices.

That doesn't look like the same Jeep. Unless the wheels got painted, they added the roof stuff, added a few thousand miles, changed the shocks, painted the front springs, added window stickers.....AND MAGICALLY TURNED A FOUR DOOR INTO A TWO DOOR. ;-)

Don't install them. Just wait for a decent cash offer on the rig. No trades. Then take your cash and start XJ shopping again

Saw one here in Bakersfield last year in better shape with same set up, guy had it marked for 3700 and had +/- 230k on it. Also take into account he had moving out of state on the listing so he needed to dump it quick.

I can only imagine.. the popular thing down here seems to be to lift only the front, so the cheapest routes are usually taken

Haha no the two door is mine, I just noticed that 4 door similar to mine is still fairly steep in price in comparison. I have a painted set with a bad tire so I picked up another set of 4 out of phoenix for 180 bucks for rims and tires.

Anyways, I appreciate the feedback

The ad says "serious callers only", so I guess if you're a stand up comedian or a circus clown you're out of luck.

I didn't pay attention that it was you posting that. I read it as someone else saying yours had the salvage title. Ugggg....what I get for posting fast and not reading thoroughly.
