Ughh repairs
Everyone has to do them. A plastic 4 way pipe thing exploded in my jeep and sprayed coolant all over the engine and gave the dummy temp light. Luckily my dad was driving so he walked got some coolant and rerouted some hoses to drive it back home. The only reason why he was driving my jeep is his has DW and he was driving on the highway. I am kinda happy it wasnt me though but now I have to fix that too. Just complaining about repairs.

You must be talking about the heater control valve. Just another one of those bound to fail XJ parts. The new part, a few tools, and a couple beers and your XJ will be fixed. I keep one of those emergency heater hose repair kits in my Jeep in case mine decides to explode. I know I don't want to be stranded in the middle of nowhere with an overheating XJ. Good luck on your repairs.

If you are talking about one of those quick flush valves attached to the heater hose, mine exploded a month ago. I just replaced the whole hose with another heater hose and did not install the valve. Id suggest just leaving it off. It will explode again. BTW... I understand what you mean about the repairs. My problem I seem to be always looking for something to fix... it drives my wife crazy.

plastic fittings and coolant system are a bad unreliable combo. I replaced mine with metal

for a good 2 months i was have problem after problem with my anti-freeze actually staying IN my xj. Hasn't leaked in months though so I'm finally content with my anti coolant xj.

Thanks. Yeah no big deal but just one more thing to fix. Its not like I cant drive it my dad just routed the hose so it wasnt going to the heater core anymore. I will probably get it fixed later though. How much does it cost? I am also interested in just eliminating it all together if that is possible. I am sure everyone can relate to this.
