Hi guys,

1993 Cherokee Sport, have the crazy clunk when letting go of the brakes after coming to a stop this has been going on for a year. Now I additionally get this random rattle/knocking sound like a feisty little midget with two hammers underneath my car that only SOMETIMES and RANDOMLY gets scared when I accelerate and hammers against my floor boards until I reach 2k rpm and then he passes out and stops. One amateur mechanic said it sounds like the transfer case, but he doesn't know Jeeps, and I doubt it really is that and not something with the driveshaft...

Long story short, I need a pro to look at this and I just don't want 5 wrong diagnostics to learn it was the drive shaft after replacing all kinds of stuff I can not afford.

Suggestions of a great mechanic in San Diego,(PB would be awesome), who won't rip me off and loves jeeps would really be appreciated.

I was on a road trip through san diego and the guy at northpark auto repair seemed knowledgable and fair... not sure if he is a jeep guy.

Joe Jr's on Morena Blvd. I've taken my '96 Cherokee there for 9 years. Good price and was always fair with me. He has 100% satisfaction on Yelp last time I looked.
