Troubles w/ Nate's 4x4

Hi folks - I usually lurk on the threads here and enjoy the builds, but wanted to pass along a recent cautionary tale of my recent experience with Nate's 4x4. I ordered a roof rack from the business on May 29 with a stated 4-6 weeks delivery. 5 weeks in (early July) I emailed the business to get an ETA on the rack. I was asked when I needed it, so I said about 3 weeks in the future - pretty reasonable to my thinking.

On July 25 I emailed again - no answer. On August 27, I emailed again - no answer. Finally, after a couple of voice-mail messages and emails, I contacted my credit card company on September 23 to begin a charge dispute. This was nearly 16 1/2 weeks after placing the order with just 1 email communication back from them.

As a small business guy myself, I can understand getting behind or missing an email or two. But this is beyond the pale and I'm posting here to simply share some facts and warn others to resist doing business with Nate's. I actually read the threads where, in the distant past, others said communication was sketchy but they eventually got a high-quality piece of gear. I was OK with that... except I never, ever got the roof rack. I was not in a huge hurry yet never got the roof rack despite my credit card being charged. This is a very recent experience as of late September 2018. Forewarned is forearmed.

Sadly, this seems to be the norm for that business over the last couple of years. There have been a number of these same types of threads about people never receiving their items and never hearing back.

I actually received the rack I ordered from them a few years ago. Took an extremely long time, but it was a decent product. The horror stories started coming out a few months after I received mine, so I guess I was one of the lucky ones.

Ordered some rear bumper tie ends and received. I think the number one thing to remember or do when purchasing from Nate’s is don’t expect it quickly and order early way before you will need it.

Par for the course. I made the mistake of ordering the same roof rack. awe full communication, false lead times, missing parts, took nearly 6 months to get everything to install it. never again. ever. The rack was good quality though.
