Transmission swap.
I have a 1995 cherokee sport aw4 auto. The trans is slipping. I’m just wanting to bolt one in. It’s my daily driver. Question is, what years will be a direct fit in to my cherokee with no modifications. I can pick one up fairly cheep but it’s out of a 1998two door cherokee. Help me out guys. I can also pick one up from the wrecking yard. I just want to know what years are interchangeable. Thank you. |

91-96 are interchangeable. 97 is a stand-alone unit but can be modified to work with 91-96... I believe swapping tailhousings and stuff. 98 and up won't work in older Jeep's without significant machine work.
Your best bet would be finding a 91-96 AW4 |
