97 Cherokee Transmission

I have a 98 Cherokee 4.0 automatic and I have put a transmission and transfer case off a 97 Cherokee and made it 4x4. Park reverse neutral and 12 works fine but D & 3 I have to push the gas to the floor and it barely goes anywhere. The transmission I've put in it has been sitting outside on the concrete for I don't know how long. Is my transmission messed up or just kinda stuck from sitting or what?

Shift cable probably needs adjusting. Check the FSM for adjustment and trouble shooting procedures. If you don't have one, you can view it online here http://www.morris4x4center.com/knowledge-base/
