Hi, I have a 2014 Cherokee (not Grand) Limited with V6 and the tow package. Specs are 4500lbs, but I've heard that's conservative. I'm going to be towing a travel trailer all over the country and wondering what my real reasonable limit is. Thanks!

Heard where? From the dealer, or some shmuck on the interwebs?

If the spec is 4500lbs, from the factory, that's your max. If you wanna tow more than that, I cannot, and will not, recommend that, and wouldn't even recommend the max capacity for long distances. Just my opinion.

OK, its been a few years since you posted this. I just bought a 2021 Cherokee (not Gran), V6 with factory tow...says I can tow 4500 lbs. I will get the anti-sway bar and trailer brakes. I also want to go xcountry and want to speak with folks as to SPECIFICALLY what brand/model travel trailer you use and how it worked. I KNOW the standard Cheroikee is very limited, but we didnt want a huge vehicle for everyday use. Any thoughts recommendations would be appreciated.

Im really suprised there is no forum specifically on towing...shame!

Those aren't built to tow at or beyond their max rating for long periods of time, you need a 3/4 ton or larger truck for that.

Brother VETERAN: I dont think you were responding to me, but maybe you would have an idea of specific make/model travel trailers that would be good for 2 adults for 4-6 weeks travel. We want to get in touch with someone who actually uses the particular travel trailer. We have a 2021 Cherokee (not Gran) with all the fixings rated for 4500 lbs. Any ideas appreciated.
