My jeep now stays in a safe spot during storms. I no longer drive into the tempest.
I crossed with a kayak and then later a bicycle. A National Guard HUMVEE (sp.)
did go through. Water went over the hood, he punched the throttle and it emerged up the other side. I'd say he got lucky, we have numerous 'sink holes' after a storm, saturated areas that acts like quicksand. Go in and you don't come out.

Judging by how it was destroyed I would say that was a smart decision. I had to ask though. They should have made that a national guard recruitment commercial!

Thanks for the reminder on proper operation on sand.

BTW, are you guys getting a dose of Arthur? Hope you keep things dry and together. These kind of events do ruin the wheeling fun for a while. We are still not allowed onto the forest lands that burned last summer. 401 square mile Rim Fire in the California Sierras near Yosemite. Most all the roads and trails are sill off limits. And man, there are some great fishing streams that now have access because the undergrowth and brush is burned away. But I can't get in!

Steve, did the water come up that much, or did the jeep get sucked into the water?
