My axles for instance I have never been formally trained but through research self taught perseverance and trial and error I build the axles with 1/2" thick walled axles tubes lockers race polished gears chromies. Seen it done on off-road shows u tube and talked to several shops and now they are under my rig. So I summery I see what you wanted with this tread but I think it's a little miss placed. There are all kinds of different level builds and no one is better or worse and than the other. I am far more modified than 90% of the rigs on here but I learned a few things from smaller less skilled builds on here.
It's just one man's opinion thread. Most people don't need to do motor swaps or any other swaps. 90% of the this segment of people don't need to. Lift, tires, and maybe lockers are all that's needed for them to wheel.

I think you guys are hung up on the title. Again maybe a poor choice for this thread.

These are builds where not only function was considered but form as well.

Some of these builds are basic just wheels and tires because that's what that owner and or builder wanted for there needs.

Not everyone has the budget for a lot of these builds. Some of these really don't take a lot of money to make look sharp either.

My comment about steel wheels and 3 inch rough country lifts is definitely my opinion. I just wanted a thread for those builds that took it a step further.

I'm not saying anyone build is nessisarily better than other type of build. Everyone has different budgets and taste. Thats what is so great about our Hobbie and cherokee's in general.

Juse wanted a place for myself and others to see jeeps that aren't cookie cutter builds.

As for my own personal build.. I'm running a stroker motor that has replaced everything inside and out beside the pushrods and the block.

It has a shift kit in the trans, finally a sye. 4.5 rubicon express coils, old man emu leafs, extended shackles, shackle relocation brackets, bilstien shocks, 35s, front locker, and soon to be putting in a synergy long arm. That's not really stock stuff. I do what I can when the money's there like anyone else.

My jeep isn't near as nice as these builds. I learned on my red jeep and honestly it's not exactly what I want now. I'd like to start over and do more of a clean and simple build like a few that I have posted.

Again sorry if my title and headline came off as to be putting down anyone's builds. Not my intention. Just post up builds that are clean and look sharp. I'll keep doing the same.

If anyone has questions on what's been done to any of them or where they can find a build thread I'm more than happy to let you know.

These guys have no problem using these nice jeeps. Two of my favorite builds. Gotta love those Victory 4x4 bumpers.

Love the goldilocks xj too. It looks great anyways. Build wise it's fairly basic. Basically just the notch promo jeep. Nothing wrong with that though

Mopar, I completely understand. I'm in the process of changing my rig up to that level of showroom clean yet Rubicon capable. It's already locked, geared, and armored, but the front bumper is a bit ugly, it has no flares, there are exposed wires and no headliner. There was a point where I was building it to be a pure trail rig, but not having a truck/trailer has made all the little flaws that don't matter on the rocks really big flaws on the street.
