So, I'm just looking ahead towards my next big purchase and would like some feedback from you guys. I've pretty much decided to get DuraTracs, so it now boils down to a good size for my rig. Here's my current setup:
Cragar Soft 8's, 15x8, 4.0bs; 3" Rusty's Lift; Bushwhacker flat flares (with installation trim). I currently have 30x9.50x15 tires on there and they look kinda small with the lift and newly-trimmed fenders.
It's about 80/20 dd and off-road fun. I'm a desert runner and don't have occasion to play in the mud too often. No SYE, working with a D35/3.55 for now, no lockers.
I was thinking of just going with 31x10.50x15. A little cheaper, better gas mileage, and a sure thing for fit, not interfering with suspension components (rubbing), and less wear & stress on steering. Unless someone's got a compelling reason I could (or should) move up to 33x12.50x15? I don't plan on going up to a 4.5" lift anytime in the future, either.
Are 31s really the best for my rig AND what'll look good? Thanks for your input.

Thanks, but that's the annoying problem...DuraTracs come in either 31 or 33 in 15". Damn them... (If they come in 32s, I haven't seen them yet.)

I was in the same boat as you when I bought my tires a month ago. Ended up grabbing the 31's and wouldn't change a thing. Sure, 33's would be neat but would be for looks 80% of the time (as a DD). To me the power difference (or rather, the decrease in power) between the 235's and 31's was huge. I personally wouldn't touch a larger tire with out re-gearing. There was no real difference in fuel economy with the 31's (maybe a half MPG). I wasn't gonna pay the cost of fuel and performance 80% of the time for looks. Then again, this is mostly all personal preference.
I'd say if you have a need for the 33's, get them and have a blast. If not, stick with the 31's.
