Tire decision

Hey guys sorry about another tire thread but I'm really debating on what tires to get. I'm not sure if I want to get 31x10.50s or 33x12.50.

I also don't know if I want to go with pro comp xtreme m/t2 radials or pro comp xtreme all terrain radials.

I'm also going to talk to my cousin tonight about this and see what kind of deals I can get. Or if he has any suggestions on this.

Any suggestions or input would be great. Thanks

Oh I almost forgot I'm getting a 4.5 inch lift and already have bushwacker flat style flares so clearance shouldn't be and issue.

Stock gears 31s.

Regear 33s.

Lots of highway 31s.

Lots of offroad 33s.

Tire brand and type are somewhat subjective and should be based on what you intend to do "most".

Local shop has just about talked me into Yokahama Geolander AT-S.

I'm hopefully gonna get my cousin to help out with what brand and tire to get. Usually gives us a pretty good deal too

Problem is, 4.5" lift with flat flares leaves a lot of room for tires. 31"s are going to be puny and look funny. But 31"s are great for a daily driver and is the limit for stock gears in my opinion.

The way I look at it, at least for me, if you want to do something get it done right all at once. If you want 33s which I'm sure you do eventually, buy them and save up for gears and such. In the meantime I would do the 4.5" with stock flare and 31s off craigslist. Then after you have the gears and tires you can put everything on.

Depends how the jeep will be used and what type of off road.

around here we have a lot of mud and trails. But I'm not going to be wheeling it a whole lot or that hard when I do. So mostly just the best snow traction but the extra traction wouldn't be a bad thing

Look at goodyear duratrac or bfg all terrain

I looked at the BFGs and they seem good but I also kind like the toyo open country A\T II and the general grabber AT2. The price is much nicer to as the general tires are $350 cheaper. Only thing is I've heard they aren't the best in the snow. Some say they are though.

I like my Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs.

Both i listed are snow rated,But like any tire you can ask 20 people how they do in snow and get a lot of different answers.

With a 4 1/2" lift the 31's would look real small and they would be, go with the 33x12:50's and a 4.56 gear for best MPG and off road use both. When I changed my stock 3.55's with the 33's t5o the 4.56's my MPG increased by 5 on the hiway.

Here is my XJ with a 4 1/2" lift and 33x12:50's and going to a 35 for off road soon.
