Thoughts on a tire carrier.

Ok so my thought is for a pivot point for a rear swing tire carrier build is to use 2 hiems in a single plane vertical shear. With about a 4-5" separation. 2 separate bolts.

The tire is a 35 with a steel rim. The tubing that would be use for the carrier would be .120 wall. Do you guys think this would hold up?

So no one has any thoughts one this at all?

No one?

You talking drop down or swing out?

should work out fine. would put just as much stress on the bumper mounts as a traditional spindle though.

I did something similar except tied it into the body. It was super solid and held a 35" tire on a steel rim and a full can of gas through jumping and hard wheeling without issue.

even held a 37 later in its life.

Ya this is exactly what I was thinking of doing but both mounts on the bumper.

If you want it to swing out, the heims have to be mounting on top of eachother. Mine are offset because i wanted it to mount to the body as well for rigidness. I didn't mind the fact that it swung down and out either, was actually pretty cool.

Ya my plan was to have it swing out horizontal, and flat. So the plan was to mount them on the bumper.
