I hear you, though at 220k mine is still running strong. If the OP takes good care of that Cherokee and can keep the rust at bay she should be able to get another 100k out of it easy!

I got 286,910 miles on my 4.0l, put a rebuilt head 1000 mikes ago with no issues at this time. Keep the heat gremlins away from your engine and it will definetly make another 100,000 ... probably go thru a couple of rear main seals, a thermostat or two and a waterpump. Good luck to you !!

Miles are irrelevant when compared to rust and neglecting maintenance as the measure of longevity.

100K?

It's still just a baby.

Cherokeegirl89 10-02-2015 04:25 PM

I put a new water pump in about two months ago and I did my thermostat last weekend and while I was at it I changed the spark plugs. I'm doing oil this weekend. Plus I'm in the south so rust isn't really an issue for me :)

Take care of the baby and surely it will go a long time, my 99 is at 235,000 and runs very well so far.
