Value varies on XJ's quite a bit. Seems the last couple years, with the Jeep craze, values have risen. Prices vary from each zip code, so I'd suggest doing some homework with Craigslist- AutoTrader or whatever. I always like to negotiate price as well |

Just so everyone is aware, the OP isn't talking about an XJ. A 99 Grand Cherokee is a different model completely. WJ.
oh sorry i thought XJ was some hip internet slang for Jeep Grand Cherokee |

lol my bad.....
XJ is slang for broke |
Honestly i would never buy a xj that has a lift on it,I would look hard for a virgin one that has taken care of it.A lot of the lifted ones was own by younger people that probably drove it hard and didn't take care of it,So you end up fixing all the problems that show their ugly head after you had it a while.

I like the name doc and the alcoholic bit lol

I think you mean XJ Cherokee. |
The 99 Grands were called "WJ's" and the last series of the Grand Cherokees good for off road use and still have a lot of comfort, I have both and would get rid of either one.

Jeep uses two letter designations for the various platforms. Similar to how GM uses a one letter designation.
Camaro/Firebirds are F bodies for example. XJ is the 84-01 Cherokees ZJ is the 92-98 Grand Cherokees WJ is the 99-04 Grand Cherokees YJ is the 86–95 Wranglers TJ is the 97–06 Wranglers And so on. |
