Sliders which set

Seems like i'll be getting a good chunk of cash coming in sometime this month. So time to upgrade!

I was looking at getting sliders and narrowed down to a few different ones. Here are my choices...

JCR Stage II Sliders

JCR Stage III Sliders

AJ's Superrock rails

Now im not too sure what the EXACT difference is between the stage 2 and 3. It looks like the tubing on the stage 3 angled up with the rockers. cant really tell...

But what do you guys recommend?

JRC stage III look gooooood. Mabe thats cuz they are the only one you have a pic on a jeep but I am thinking they are the best ones.

The JCR stage three sliders do have the round tubes angled up but not so they are up against the rocker panels. If you like to have a step, these might be fine, but if you want sliders that almost "hug" the rocker panels, look at the Rusty's XJ sliders. These also have more points to bolt to the frame rail

I have the JCR stage 3s and love them and i just helped a buddy put a set of stage 2s on his rig. If you need a step to get into the rig the stage 2s are better. the stage 3s the tube protects the side a little better but wont work well as a step. The rusty's ones are niceish but i they don't seem to have pinch weld bolts like the AJs or JCR. If I were doing my rig again I would pick up a set of AJs rails. only reason I went with JCRs was because of their black friday sale.

my vote AJs

JCR stage 2 all the way.

Irongrave awesome pictures. That helped alot. BUt why would you go with AJ's rails over JCR? Also beside the step what would the stage 3 sliders have the advantage over the stage 2 and aj's?

The stage three hug the body of the jeep a bit better and thus would help slide over rocks better.

I have to correct your statement regarding Rusty's sliders. I run them and would'nt trade them for anything. They actually have nine bolts per side going through the pinch weld as well as use a 1"x1" tube against the pinch weld with a piece of flat stock sandwiching the pinch weld. I've been beating the crap out of them for a year now with nothing more than scraped powdercoating. I'm not saying they're better, just that they are a really good pruduct. If I had to buy again I'd stick with the Rusty's.

I like the support the AJs rails have tied into the unibody and the leaf spring hanger. Also there are some minor fitment issues with the JCRs ie the feat land near a hole in the "frame" rails killing one of the bolts on each foot.

I looked at Rusty's sliders, i definitly like them...although the price is a little higher then i wanted... I also like the rails that contour to the body so to speak. Since all we have is rock down here...

Would it be possible ask JCR move the legs over say 1 or 1.5" to make sure the bolts arent in the holes?

Irongrave Oct 8, 2010 06:25 PM

yeah give them a call and see. mine were fine because of how i set them with the cut fenders.

Desert Rat can you post up some pictures of your sliders.

Also if at all possible can you guys post up pictures of how the sliders you have mount?

My vote aj's super squire. Here is a couple views for you. I have hammered on this hard! and there is only a couple scrathes on them

Irongrave, thanks for the pics. Your pic of the stage three gives a better look at the angle of the round bars than the JCR website. The angle actually looks similar to the Rusty's ones.
