Anyone do a custom locking center console? I plan to take the stock console out completely to bedline the interior and need ideas for a locking console. I was looking at steel handgun cases.
Great idea for the thread. I've done a few things to my interior, but don't have supporting pics yet.
CB radio mounted up front
Under rear seat I have mounted power and ground distribution blocks
Built a rear platform/box for storing gear
Mounted my air compressor next to my box
I'm putting a 10" sub in the back, and after that and the amp get installed I'm going to redo the whole box.

Took some pics during lunch.
First is my platform. It's attached to the truck using the exsisting tie down straps. If I need to, I can remove it in less than 5 minutes with a socket.
Next is my Viair 400P-Automatic air compressor. It's mounted on a block of wood that's attached to the box and the spare tire mount. It's hard wired to my...
Third pic is my distribution blocks, under the back seat, mounted to where the tire changing kit was. The only thing I have powered now is my air compressor, but in the future I'll use it for my sub amp, power inverter, and whatever else I need. My buddy has the same setup, but with a lot more stuff plugged into it.
Last pic is just my Uniden Bearcat PC68 Elite 40-Channel CB Radio.

Got these from an 89-95 Taurus. Had to do some cutting in the dash and remove the vent. The downside is I no longer have use of any dash vents and the heat only works out of the defroster and the floor simultaneously. I didn't care about losing the vents since my XJ didn't come with AC and we'll see how the heat works on the next cold morning.
