Should I Get It?
I have the chance to buy a 92 Jeep Cherokee XJ. Looks like a stock, straight, non-rust body with PW, auto, 4x4, HO 4.0L, 270k miles, & new tires. Exhaust manifold cracked, grinding noise when in 4WD and turning. I figure a new header and CV axle will take care of those problems.
All this for $1500. I've been holding out for a '96, but they go quickly and for over $5000. (It's like that in California.) Should I get it? Is OBD-II worth the continued search? I have a 99+ manifold, but the '92 will be trickier to add because of the PS mod I have to do. The mileage concerns me, as does the power windows. Thanks for your replies. PS. I plan to build it into a desert/trail machine that will also be a daily driver. I have a '96 2WD XJ that I would need to give up and sell cuz I can't afford to keep 2 Jeeps! |
i would pay less for it, but i wouldnt be too concerned with the mileage. i would give it a good look over though

How much less? Is it because of the known issues? I thought $1500 was a good price, considering I've seen 90's get picked up for $3000+ around here. You hardly see XJ's getting sold anymore. It's all Grand Cherokees now.
