Should I buy (I know its been asked) 1994 sport manual
Good Afternoon
I am new to the forum from Missouri and I am stuck. I can't decide what to do. I owned 2 XJs when I was younger and have always kept an eye out for another that wouldn't cost an arm and leg. Well the day came where one was found and now I dont know what to do. It is a 1994 XJ sport 5 speed manual 180k miles ac,heat, windows gauges all work. Test drove for 45 minutes and let idle for 20 on a 65 degree day and no overheating. All gears and reverse work and clutch feels strong. Brand new wrangler at tires including thr spare. Fluids looked good , oil level was good. Hi and low 4wd work. Got up to 70mph road like a old truck with at tires no wobble. All glass is good . Head liner sags even has a aftermarket head Unit with amp and sub. All that for 1500. Except the rust ....passinger side rocker panel is clean, body is clean with brite paint. But the driver rocker panel is trash and so are the floor pans. Frame looks ok from what I can see. What do you all think I should do buy or not ? this would be a drive and enjoy vehicle with some off road use but will by no means be a trail rig . How rare is that manual transmission ? If I do buy I would want to do the cheap and easiest method to fix the rust. Is panel adhesive a l possible option? Also a one family vehicle Thank You all for your time Chris |
Post a link/pics.
Seems like A decent deal. I would low ball with a sub 1000 dollar offer if the rust is really bad as you say. |
Everyone should own a manual trans Cherokee. They're great. I have two!

Rust bad. Manual trans good. Low ball offer smart. Have fun driving it until it breaks in half.. Ha! Joking of course... any pics of the rust?

Two things to know about rust:
Whatever you can see is never all there is. |
