shipping the Jeep cross country.
I'm going to ship my Jeep from pa to ca. I'm gonna keep it registered in PA tho. I was wondering how inspection and emissions would work? Right now my inspection and emission is expired but if i get my Jeep shipped out to Cali, will i have to get it inspected right away once it gets here? Anyone know how it'll work?
Thanks
Thanks

Are you moving from PA to CA? Most states require that a certain number of days after arriving in the state, you have to get your vehicle registered in that state. Are you in the military? If so, you're in luck and can have it registered in your home state, also you can retain your home state driver's license. Most states will register service member vehicles through the mail (if it was already registered in the state). I went through this when I was in the Army. It was NICE to not worry about smog laws and emissions testing.

I kept all my vehicle registered in my home state wherever I was stationed in the US. In 23 years, I never had to worry about getting it registered or inspected in the state I was in (except when I drove it home), just renewed my home state registration annually. Never stationed in CA though so I don't know if they have funky rules. Best to check with the base PMO when you get your base registration done.

Alright, thank you. I don't ever plan on driving home till i get out since it's 36 hours of driving. Ill have to ask around base, might have to go to the garage on base and ask em if they know, if PMO doesnt. Next thing is find a company that can ship it for a decent price.
