Shifting Issues

Shifting Issues
Automatic that shifts great in auto, but I cannot manually shift it into 1-2. The shifter is in the correct location for it to be in low but it just stays in 3. I have removed the cable from the tranny and can manually shift it into 1. My guess is that it might be a stretched cable. Everything else works fine. ANy other ideas? Thanks
