Default Rusty's or Rough Country Poll

I know there are plenty of threads on Rusty's Vs. Rough Country but I think a poll will make this more clear.

This is for people who have/have owned or have a close friend that owns one of the lifts from the two companies. I am specifically looking for a 4.5" though.

If there is already a poll that I didn't find in my search, Kindly throw me a link.

This may help others decide what to choose as well because other threads seem to end with a hung jury. We'll see how this goes.

Thanks,
Jon

I prefere RC, both are great companys and offer very good products. rustys offers alot the RC doesnt. but RC is the company i went with when i was shopping for a lift. I have had 0 problems with them. and even tho they both have great tech support, rc has always helped me out. RC gets a A+ from me. which either company you go with ur going to get good quality products, and rustys shipping is kinda expensive

I have friends that say Rough Country is crap. But recently the keep saying that try got better and Rusty's just get hit or miss. Seems like I could have problems with either one. Or have great luck with both.

I have had Rusty's I guess my 2 years with them was all miss.... I was pleased for a little while....

Now I am all RC an have no regrets plus great customer service!

call jason(grimmus99xj) at RC an he will hook you up and answer all questions.

btw i have run short arms by RC and now long arms, their leaves, coils shocks and now shackle relocation kit

with Rustys i ran coils, shocks, blocks, sway bar discos and a few other misc parts... I dont have a single one left on my jeep for a good reason

Seems like Rough Country it is. How do you all like your shocks.

They suck on road. OK for off-road use. That is with standard shocks, the 2.2's are probably better.

but if i would have to vote, i would say RC. Rusty (yes the actual Rusty) is a jerk.

I've met Rusty in person several times, been using his stuff for years. As well as RC. They fall into the same price range, and honestly, for those of us who aren't going Old Man Emu, Skyjacker, Pro-Comp, or what have you, their in our price range.

I've never had one issue with either company that wasn't easily resolved. My rigs are mostly a good blend of Rustys and RC. Can't speak highly enough about either company.

If your going 6.5 long arm from RC, be very prepared to upgrade your shocks. The 2.2 shocks are way too short for the system. Jason took care of me an hooked me up with some different hydro shocks but maybe if you ask him from the word go he can just replace the 2.2s in the kit with them and you wont have near as much hassle. im running the 8157 shocks in the front and the 8158s in the rear. You can actually go a little bigger on the front 8159 but you the 57 are working pretty well for me right now. Anything longer and I wouldnt feel comfortable without some limiting straps.

I had the RC 4.5 for about 2 years and I gotta say I loved it to death. Both are great companies but from my experience RC lifts have been better to me. JMO
I have went to 6.5" long arms since and I love it EVEN more but 4.5" RC was great

The 2.2s seemed to exaggerate the ROUGH in my rc lift lol. The back was really bounce. Granted they were new springs. I dont know if the valving is different on the rcx hydros but it seems to tame the rear end down a little better going over bumps too

Well I'd love to run Old Man shocks as I have a friend that uses them on his Wrangler and I like how they ride. Maybe I could talk to Grimus about dropping the price and not including them.
