Default Rusty's Off Road steering and track bar

I am planning on changing my steering box in the next couple of month's. So I decided to also upgrade my warn out steering components. 95% of my offroading is on the beach.

I was curious if any one has any experience with Rusty's steering and track bar. I'm not looking to get 1 ton steering, just something stronger than stock

For on the beach you may be just fine with a ZJ mid-90's V-8 GC tie rod setup under a $100 at AutoZone and much stronger than stock. This setup is also a direct bolt-in in your XJ.

As for track bars I use the Rustys Adj. Dbl. Shear one and it works well for me a HD unit. In the past there had been an issue with the Rustys cheaper track bar where a weld broke, but it was warranted there are still photos of it around from 5 yrs ago. Lots of choices for them everyone makes them it seems, I just went with Rustys.

I have a 3 in lift with 32. This is the steering linkage:

And the track bar set up:

OR

I was also considering doing the Durango steering box... I have read some reviews but am curious if anyone here has done it and if so do you think the upgrade is worth it

If your going with the Rustys track bar buy the HD Adj. Dbl. Shear one not the light duty one.

The V-8 ZJ TRE setup is much more HD than stock XJ ones and a direct bolt-in. I run it with 35" tires at it limits really but no problems yet and mostly all off road use. My steering box is a stock XJ one again no issues with a 3" first then a 4 1/2" lift and 33-35" tires.

If you are spending the money on a new track bar and you want beef steering I would suggest the following:

Rubicon Express Chromoly Adjustable Double Sheer TB (RE1660)
Rubicon Express DOuble sheer TB Bracket (RE1665)

B. Lee's HD Steering. .25 DOM drag link and tie rod..

Have fun trying to break that.
