Roof Rack
I'm looking for a good roof rack to add to my jeep. I've been looking around but haven't really found any that I like. I've seen the smittybilt but it's to small, I'd like it to cover the whole roof. I've seen the Jcr rack but it doesn't have a highlift and shovel mounts. I need one that hold a spare tire and all, preferably with a price around 700-800$. All and any suggestions will heavily considered and much appreciated!!!
Thanks!
Thanks!

Putting a spare on the roof is a bad idea in the real world,If its a daily driver you lose some mpg with it,Its a pain to get it on and off the roof if you need to use it.The weight on the roof can change the handling of the jeep and being in full sun always can age the tire faster.Take a look at http://aresfabrication.com/shop/xj-r...k/#prettyPhoto

OP, check out the Garvin, mounts to the rain gutter, and they sell optional mounts for it as well...you may need to fab mounts for things like axe/shovel, but the Garvin has hi lift mounts available...

Yep, these are very easy to make up on your own. Not only will you get exactly what you want but you'll save some coin as well. I made a set out of aluminum scrap I got from work and a few bolts for <$5 I've been asked a couple times where I bought them.

cant help but i encourage you to persue what you want! a guy wanted a bottle jack and i made the mistake of dissagreeing, suggesting a small floor jack. i was attacked from all sides,"let him do what he wants.'
so get a rack and put your spare up if you feel youre safe!

I've been looking at nates 4x4 rack for awhile. Couple months ago it seemed he was really behind though and people weren't seeing their purrchase for a few months. Not sure if he has caught up but worth looking into.

He is the same guy that sheet metal screwed down patch panels over the rust holes in his floor. And the passenger side seat mount is screwed down on top of one of them. But back on topic search around and look up reviews before you buy one.Nates 4x4 has good and bad years out of reviews but his stuff is on the cheaper side.

He got ripped up because it was shoddy work. Add to that, the fact he promoted it as good advice, as well as all the other "advice" he left....well.
It's a non-issue now.
