Roof mounted light bar
I don't have one, but on here I have seen them made one of three ways.
1. Your stock roof rack modified.
2. Thule roof rack cross bar.
3. Completely home built.
I haven't really seen anyone buy a light bar specifically, mostly modding the roof racks by drilling through and mounting them on top.

I like the Carr light bars, they are good quality. A friend of mine has been running one on his xj for atleast 8 yrs. and I think he bought it used. Not a bad price either, I like the added option of folding the lights down for low clearance areas.

The "walmart lightbar" works great until you start driving, especially off road. The stock crossbar is not designed for the lights and it will bounce and vibrate like crazy, meaning the light will not stay where you want it.
Also this does not belong in fabrication. This problem is running rampant.

I wish the crossrack mounts went all the way front to back on the roof on the 97+ like they did on the old ones... Would make light rack installation much easier. Though I heard the stock bars aren't really great for light mounts as they're curved and the lights wobble themselves loose...

I have the Carr light bar, but, would like to add some sort of off road protection around the lights, so I don't knock them off with a low branch
