Default Rear bumper thought...

So, what about buying a bumper for a YJ or TJ, and modifying it for a cherokee. The link for the tire carrier bumper is http://www.ebay.com/itm/JEEP-WRANGLE...a3c396&vxp=mtr
and it has free shipping. That is just ridiculous having free shipping, but what do you think about getting this and modifying it?

dont think its wide enough for a xj. pretty sure the yj tj are narrower and mounting this wouldnt add any protection like a aftermarket bumper should

x2 i dont think its wide enough, and why not just buy a bumper/tire carrier made for an xj and not have to deal with trying to make a different bumper fit?

Because he's thinking about how cheap it is for a rear bumper with a tire carrier for only $318 bucks, versus the $700-1,000+ for an XJ rear bumper with tire carrier.

That is a heck of a savings though and free shipping, I would consider it myself as well. However I would also shop around for the correct bumper before picking up one and having to modify it, which can be such a pain.

Very true, and yes, I was asking because of the price. If anything, I am going to build my own. Have enough metal here... just need to buy the spindle and locking set-up .lol
