RE add a leaf not in need of new leaf clamps?
Im putting on my add a leaf kit today, last night i reAd on quadratec that new leaf clamps are not needed for it? any help on that?

If you are using a short leaf, no. But you will need one if you are adding a long one.

be careful when removing the clamps because they can break pretty easily. channel locks, vice grips and a flathead will be your friend. when you install the aal use c clamps to hold them together while you tighten down the center pin. then once that is done put the spring clamps back on while you still have the c clamps on. then remove them and they should stay nice and snug
