Do you have an electric fan and does it come on?

mobilecherokee4 07-02-2009 10:01 PM

i wired it to a switch so its on all the time, i think its my belt driven fan, since it dont have a fan clutch i thinks thats whats wrong with it, what you think?

You don't have to have a clutch. Personally I don't like them and if I am having heating problems, they are the first to go.

You will have to help me a little with narrowing it down. For instance it could be your alternator bearings , which are near that location.

IS there a specific time it happens like when the ac is on when it is hot when it is cold. Is it a constant noise or off and on

mobilecherokee4 07-02-2009 10:32 PM

i dont use ac but it works, the noise is all the time, and yeah i think it might be some kind of bearings, im just not sure

a1racer 07-02-2009 10:39 PM

The easiest way to find it is pull the belt and check every moving part for grit or frozen bearings.

mobilecherokee4 07-02-2009 10:42 PM

yeah ill probly work on it tomorrow, im gonna buy a new fan clutch, the thing is sometimes it overheats and sometimes it dont,it will stop at like 220 them sometimes it will be at 210 (which is ok with me) but today i was on the interstate and it went almost to 260!!!! then all of a sudden it dropped back to 220?????? somethin is really weird, do you think my hoses cant take the pressure and are colapsing or somethin??

a1racer 07-02-2009 11:43 PM

At this point I would flush it get a new t stat and replace the hoses and the colling should be set and yeah replace the fan clutch if you don't think it works they are not a lot of money to replace.

mobilecherokee4 07-03-2009 12:02 AM

well hoses are fairly new but i might get some heavy duty performance ones not sure yet, def a new t-stat and def fan clutch, and i got some stuff to flush out the radiator, what is setting the collling?

a1racer 07-03-2009 01:12 AM

Sorry my phone doesn't like some words I type I mention after that the cooling shoud be all set and working good.

mobilecherokee4 07-03-2009 10:14 AM

mobilecherokee4 07-03-2009 01:42 PM

a1racer 07-03-2009 01:44 PM
