purchase advice
so i just drove an hour to look at an 01 sport. 6cyl. 2-door 5-speed. outside near perfect (black). 3in. skyjacker with AAL, no sway bar drop bracket, so the links are rubbing against the frame (pretty bad), absolutely rust free, C8.25, tow package, factory fog lights, american racing wheels, 31x10.5 bfg at ko (about 50% thread), front diff input seal is leaking like a mother, inside extremely clean, CEL is on, he says for emissions (said it's been on since '06), regular leaks, 0331 head, rides quite a bit rougher than mine, has very little power compared to mine, no cruise, no overhead display console, but all in all quite clean.
says 3500, but talked him down to 3200.
i think it's not worth more than 3k. what do u guys think? should i get it? my wife says she likes it a lot.
keep in mind I don't have to have it, and frankly i'd have to sell my jetta if i get it. otherwise I'll have 5 vehicles for 2 people.

yeeah, I know. honestly I'd much rather have a '99 2-door, 5-speed. but those are IMPOSSIBLE to find. besides, I think the issue with the 0331 head will show its face soon.
so, I kinda want convincing that I'm not loosing money. the price IS great and the vehicle is quite rare, but is it worth it? my wife wants it for its looks, but should i get one already lifted instead of buying stock and lifting it myself?
i keep going back and forth in my mind. give up a 32mpg vehicle that is quite boring, to buy a 17mpg vehicle that i don't have to have. what i do know is that i'd much rather work on my XJ than my VW jetta.
