Powder coating cost?
 

I bought a set of fender flares/quarter panel armor and was thinking of getting them powder coated. It's been too cold to paint and I'm not very good at it anyway. Has anyone had stuff like this powder coated? I'm going to find a shop to give me a price but I have no idea what it should be. Am I looking at a 300 dollar job or $600?

The owner of the shop I work at also owns a powder coating company. I'll ask him today and post when I can.

I have a local shop near me that charges $200 to blast and powdercoat a set of rims inside and out the do a very good job so I would guess you should be in the $300 range

My boss says depending on the amount of prep, $2-300. If they're already bare metal, there's no need to blast, just clean, coat and bake...with blasting around $300.

Thanks for all the replies. I took them to a local shop today and got a price of 350 that seems fair considering I already painted 2 of them before I decided it wasn't going to work. He recommended I have them primed as well because of the application. Is that a good idea? I don't know much about powder coating.

power primer is great ! it gives you one more coat of protection most shops skip that step

I think ill have them do it. The guy at the shop is a member of a local jeep club and seems alright.

My resto-mod 76 Wagoneer has sooooooo much powder coating on many parts. (most of the engine compartment actually)
I like smooth powder coating, as dirt, mud and oil are easier to clean off of parts with a good powder coat.
What they are quoting you sounds about right. However MAKE SURE that they use a powder coat that is UV resistant to any part that is exposed to sun light.
Other wise your powder coating will start to look chalky, and deteriorate quickly.
