This is my new favorite picture because it shows why I bought the Jeep. Wide open spaces and exploring endless trails. I was off work today so I went trail riding.

Just thought I'd share because to said eco boost haha
He could have been pulled out by an Escape. Only things specified were 4wd and Ecoboost.

I went and tried to nail down exactly where you were sitting there and it is too spider webbed with trails around there to do it. Especially up to the east of the sand pit. lol

You actually went there or looked on Google Maps? It is spider webbed with trails. The other day I saw one of the Jeep Tours stop and let the tourists out to take pictures on top of that hill so I figured I would check it out. After leaving I found trails that lead right to Goldfield Ghost Town.

I use Google "Earth" a lot. One of my hobbies is doing satellite archaeology and I have gotten pretty good at being able to look at a photo and then find that particular spot by satellite. I got in the general area where I think you were sitting but that area is so spider webbed with trails it was hard for me to nail down for sure. lol

I have been all over that valley looking at the ancient Hohokam irrigation canals so I was already familiar with which way is east, west, north or south when looking at a photo. and by how far the mountains in the background are away and how they are oriented. It's just a knack I have.

Lets test this skill of yours. Ill give you a few pictures from the same spot looking in different directions. Hint - start near Cal State San Bernardino. You can see the college in the 2nd pic.

COOOOL!!! I love this stuff! having a state to work with helps a lot! Many times I have to research the vegetation first to find the general geographical location. Sometimes it takes a month to find the state and "the spot". lol

This wouldn't happen to be an old "take a date" spot would it? lol

Give me a bit to drop off and go log in and let me see if I can find that spot.

I think it was Pete here who I have talked with many times in the past about this hobby? He has pointed me to some very neat places around his area in Az. If I am correct.

Haha no this isnt an old date spot. Its just a nice little area to go testing since its so close to my house. Its also a great spot to use a telescope. Just got to watch out for the mountain lions at night.

That's awesome. You sure we are not brothers? I am Google Earth fanatic. I have been all over this planet and am always searching for things I have never seen before.

I'm guessing you are on Cloudland Truck Trail and the top of the hill is the area I circled.

Nope. Thats the lower takeoff point for the paragliders. The spot you circled is a very steep cliff.

Lol... It's like a treasure hunt for me. He had me up at midnight looking again last night. lol

I have the general area figured out but that exact "intersection" I have not nailed down yet. I realize this morning judging by the background vegetation that those pictures might actually be showing two different locations with similar hills and intersections. The backgrounds look totally different even though they appear to be the same little hill and intersection he is parked at there. Or... they were taken on two different trips.

If this is the case, it has thoroughly thrown me off base in trying to find one location. But I'm still looking... I'm not giving up yet, this challenge has been fun so far and I'm digging it. lol
