Seen more than a few of them when growing up. Tracks ran about 1/4mile from the house between two wooded ridges for about 1/4mile. They hauled grain in open cars to Calvert's whiskey distillery. It was a dove hunters paradise!

Kind of sentimental and historic for me too Earl. I grew up next to the tracks also, As kids we used to hike up and down the tracks a few miles just for fun. The guys in these Cabooses would see us kids out hiking and toss off a case of drinking water in pint cardboard cartons labeled AT&SF railroad. Pretty cool stuff for kid memories there. lol

Here's something funny... My Grandkids and I go out and take that walk once in awhile. We always wave as the engines go by and they honk and wave back. But I also recognize some of them as friends I grew up with doing this very same thing. lol

It has come full circle.

X2...southwest is ridiculous. You have every type of wheeling within a short drive, plus everything has awesome scenery.
