Just wanted to know your thoughts on the program. I think it was stupid. I think foreign cars are the winners in the new car market. They seem to have every aspect of the industry down to the T. How on earth does it help the US economy if everyone bought toyo's, honda, vw, audi, nissan, volvo, mitsu, etc...even though they have some of those plants in the US. I was so mad I saw a cherokee around my year or very close to it even in red just neglected and abandoned with a glassed up block of good ol' obama juice i hate that sob sorry but i voted mccain. Perfectly good looking when i saw it i said hell i would have gave the dealer 500 probably just so i could have for parts before they had to kill it. Oh well my rant is done. just wanted to here your opinions i think we were in the top 10 on the list for traded clunkers of 84'-01' cherokee.

I saw a 88 with a 3 inch Skyjacker lift sitting at the scrap yard last weekend. I almost made me sick to see it headed for the crusher. I tried to talk them into letting me buy the leafs and coils, but they said no.

About C4C... Ill admit, I hated it when it came out... I would always go by the dealerships in town and see what they had... I even began to call my Jeep a clunker and even burned my shoes in protest (ha ha...jk)
It was very upsetting to see 4 Jeeps just sitting there one day...
Towards the end, I got my head out of my *** and began to see the light. It really helped out the economy... GM sales went way up... I cant remember the figures, but it did help...
And once again, dont everyone jump on me like a clan of monkies... I am a big Jeep fan... It was upsetting to see some get destroyed.... but all in all, it did help...

My dad turned his in and got a new car for my mom to drive. I work at the dealer where he turned it in, guess who got to blow the engine up? I wasn't that impressed, it only went about 8 minutes before it stopped running with a loud CLANK!!!!!

Why would I turn in a decent running XJ (or my ZJ or Explorer) and gget back into car payments? If my daughter trashes the XJ, I have a spare motor, or can turn the thing into a trail machine. If the ZJ dies, the spare motor becomes a stroker... The Explorer, I just rebuilt the trans in it a few months ago and it wheels pretty good... Only one person I know did the cash for clunkers.

Wrangler didn't qualify, not that I really want one, so yes I kept mine. If I ever get ride of my XJ, I will replace with another Jeep, the only NEW Jeep I would buy is a Wrangler. I think my next rig will be a ZJ or WJ for DD and a XJ, YJ or TJ for Fun.

I drive OTR for a living, and I'd say that even considering how many Jeeps were turned in for CfC, it's hardly put a dent in things... I see hundreds of them every trip being driven and plenty for parts in the 'yards...

i thought about it for a remote second, then really considered it, and came up with the analogy of..
turning my xj into cash for clunkers would be like giving up a jew to the ****'s.
and im jewish, and i love my xj, so neither was going down.
i need that sticker
