So, i plan on fixing my dads ol 1997 jeep cherokee sport... Well she has 125k miles on her and he hit a deer last year with it... He bought it new in 97-98 and since then has been taken care of very well. Now anyways i plan on fixing this car up as my first car but there are a few issues i need help with. Is it worth fixing? and how much would it cost to fix it if i buy the parts and do it myself? also she needs a little body work (dent in picture and rust on rims usually stuff for sitting) so should i even attempt to restore her?

if it were me... i would try to find something 2wd or with a bad engine and swap everything

if you want to learn, and have some time money... fix that one.

gives you a good excuse for aftermarket bumper, put a new grill on and try your hand at some body work.

good jeep to learn on.

It's paid for, right? I say fix it, drive it till the wheels fall off. 125k is barely broke in, plus you know all the history.

For less than 200 bucks in parts, you can have it back on the road.

go to a junkyard and get all the parts you need

just be sure nothing mechanical took any damage. ESP the cooling system.

Throw a couple hundred at it and drive it.
