So my year long search for a JY transmission ended yesterday. This winter my AX-15 finally gave up 4th gear, which I primarily drive with, so I pretty much stopped driving it except for around town stuff which doesnt require more than 3rd.

I had been searching all over, ebay, forums, and craigslist, and I had found some good ones on ebay and craigslist, but the deals would always fall through.

I finally thought I had one on lock for 250, but the girl just stopped answering my emails/calls, and about 2 months later emailed me saying oops I sold it
Almost every week I would get on craigslist and see if anything popped up, usually the nearest listing was in Albuquerque and usually I would have to sort through 30 listings of Jeeps WITH 5spds

So this past sunday I found a listing, all it said was AX-15, AX-5 and AW4 for sale, and the number
So I called him up, the guy was pretty cool, he said he bought jeeps and took out the manuals and put autos in there because he was a part of the Search and Rescue team for the wilderness out in TorC and Elephant Butte, so I asked him about this trans he said it was out of a 97 Wrangler and it shifted good and just had been sitting so I said how much and he said something so sweet to my ears, FIFTY BUCKS!

AWESOME

So hopefully soon I can clean that thing out and put her in, I cant wait, I was all ready to plunk down 500 bucks, and this happens,
