A personal realization: My Jeep is the only true love I can always count on.
I came to a humbling realization today....my jeep, my Anya, a vehicle i've only owned for 3 months, but come to love with all my heart, is the only thing in this world that can never betray me, that will never hurt me.
I've been plagued with evil, heartless women in my life, who walk all over me and hurt me, and then blame it on me when they leave. But a Jeep isn't capable of walking out, of breaking my heart. All my Jeep needs is proper maintainence and a full tank of gas and she will run to the ends of the earth, with me at the wheel.
She can never leave me. She can be taken from me, by a thief, by being impounded by the police, or by getting into a bad accident, but she can never purposefully decide that i'm not worth her time, and walk/drive away. Now I realize this is because technically " she " doesn't have a conciousness, isn't really a " she " but is just a motor vehicle built for my use. But most people on this forum share a connection with their Jeeps that cannot be explained as anything other than love.
And those people know how I feel.....at least, to an extent.
And the best part about my Jeep? While her life cannot be guaranteed, she can save mine, should we ever get into an accident dangerous enough. She can sacrifice herself to save my fragile life, while 9 times out of 10 she can be rebuilt with enough money.
And so, upon coming to this realization, I made a vow today. I will drive this Jeep until the day I die. When the engine blows, I'll replace it. When the trans blows, I'll replace it. Same with every other part that can blow up/break. The only way i'd ever give this vehicle up is if we were in an accident so bad that it'd cost too much time and money to repair and replace her parts.
Why would I go through this? you may ask. Well, i'll tell you why. 2 years ago, I owned a 1994 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer edition, that my parents bought brand new for just under $30,000. Something inside the engine blew up, and I didnt have the money to make the repairs ( I was working part time, for minimum wage, at a Pizza Hut......man did I hate that job ). I made the decision to sell my Explorer to one of those " We buy junk cars " places. I got $100 for it. And ever since I watched that vehicle get towed away, i've regretted it. I loved that explorer, almost as much as I now love my Jeep, and I'll never forgive myself for giving it up so easily.
And I will NEVER let myself make the mistake again. If Anya blows up and I can't make repairs, I'll put her into storage until I can.
THAT is the love that my Jeep deserves, and thus that is the love she will get.

Anya's gonna be the best gf you've ever had, you might have a few arguements from timt to time (water pump, electrical, wheel bearing) but she forgives easily lol

.. yeah my 93 has permanent pms - but then so does my wife, and I love them both (although I tell the wife I love her more
).. I know where your coming from man. Ive owned 23 different cars in my lifetime, but I'll only ever own a jeep from now on.

Same boat. I haven't put my jeep into the same category as the women in my life, but I absolutely love my 1994 Cherokee Country (whose name is Vanessa.) I don't care what I have to spend or do, I'll drive this jeep for the rest of my life. Wouldn't ever drive another vehicle now that I've owned my Jeep.
