Parts suggestions
 

So I'm working on getting things together for the next stage of my build which is custom front bumper and then finding a way to do D ring mounts for my rear bumper. The problem is I have had friends get their accessories stolen when their cars parked at night. If I'm going to do front D Rings I want them to be lockable does anybody know if there's a product like this already or if I will have to manufacture something of my own?

I mean worst case scenario I just removed them when they're not in use. That brings me to my second item.

Does anybody know where I can get a disconnect plug kit for a front winch? Because I am concerned with things being stolen I had already planned to put a 2 inch receiver on the front bumper and just use a removable winch tray. The problem is I've only ever seen disconnectable winch plugs on military vehicles.

Is there any reason you couldn't just drill/mill a hole in the end of the pin and put a regular old padlock on it?

I'd rather spend $45 than have a junkie walk away with my D rings in the middle of the night.

I'd just make my own pins out of some bar stock, make them a bit long, and mill a hole on one end for a padlock.

And driving around with them on they clang and drive you nuts after a while.Plus leaving them on for months what if you need to use it one day and the sucker is rusted stiff in place.Mine stay in the recovery bag with everything i need.

well i mean, You have to spend $90 since you need 2:turned: I honestly think you're overthinking this..just take them off and spend all this time, energy, and money om other upgrades:balloon:

ya know how easy padlocks are to break? Especially with the nice backdrop of a steel bumper? Plus you'd just be adding alot of crap to rattle and annoy you on the front ha ha

Ummmm how much are you paying for D Rings that a $45 lock makes sense?

It's not so much the d-rings costing money as it is I just don't like watching my **** walk off. It all spawns from my buddy. He bought a nice 05 dirtymax and it had one of those 24 in LED light bars on the front bumper. The first night he had it the light bar got jacked.

I'm more concerned with a removable winch setup because the last thing I want walking off in the middle of the night will be a $400 winch.

Well, to be honest, I'm not even sure my solution of making pins really makes sense. Thinking about it, I probably wouldn't keep the D rings on the Jeep. Rather, I'd keep them in a tool or ammo box in the back until needed, along with a tow strap and the like. On my Silverado I have a trailer hitch that I don't keep on it. I stow it under the back seat until I need it. Take 30 seconds to attach and I'm ready to pull.

Unless it's the look of the D rings that you're really going for? In which case I suppose you're going to have to do what you need to do. I don't think $45 for this purpose is worth it, but you may. That's up to you. :-)

How did he mount that light bar ?I have seen many just screw down the stock mounting arms to a bumper which will be super easy to take.If it had a steel thick mount and anti theft bolts then they worked hard for it.On the winch just use the strongest locktite made they won't get the bolts out with out heating and beating it.Or some have thrown a few welds on the winch base in the back so its not seen and hard to steal.
