Default Paint or Rhino-line?

Ive seen alot of guys just putting Rustoleum on external components of their XJ's but Ive also seen alot of threads about spray on lining stuff - question is...isnt there a can spray of some bed liner/rhino type stuff thats alittle heavier duty then just regular paint without getting into paint guns and such??? i.e. diff covers, wheel wells etc.

I just did my whole jeep with the stuff, you can brush it on, roll it on, or spray it on. I actually went with the PlastiKote gallon of bedliner. Then did a mix of roll on and spray on. As long as the part is prepped correctly, I do believe that stuff will stick to anything!

Herculiner is pretty good stuff... It is pretty expensive though... My dad bought a quart for about $30.

Rhino it! The whole thing! I have a friend that has a shop that sprays truck beds. He helped me out a lot. I sanded everything down and he taped and sprayed it for me. It cost me 600.00 but if we were'nt buddys it would have been about $2500. I know its a lot but save up,its way cool. And theres different colors. When done its a little more than 1/16th of an inch thick. Its gunna last a while.

i have pretty much my whole jeep done in this plasticote stuff. in my opinion it is crap compared to herculiner. it started to chip off 2 weeks after i put it on when i went to the car wash. i prepped like a **** and its still chipping. did the inside of my friends tub on his yj a little later with herculiner, and you could tell the difference instantly. went on thicker and couldnt wash it off ur hands with just soap and water like the plasticote....its prob a year later, and mine is still chipping away, and his looks new still.

spend the money on good bedliner or you will be disapointed. maybe not at first, but in the long run, you will!!!

Thanks, I think its the coolest mod. Ive done so far. Its a head turner whereever I go. That picture was taken fairly recently of the spray Job. It has faded or gotten a little duller now. but still looks good. There is some stuff i can get to get the shine back on it. Just havent done it. FYI- if you do this to yours DO NOT PUT ARMOR-ALL ON IT. It will turn it purpleish.
