Any suggestions on what to check its a 92 guy said its lifted but not sure if its stock an just cut up a lot

caged Sep 3, 2015 07:44 AM

oh. i wouldn't touch this one. not even at scrap price.

but if it's something you do actually want. as i said, i wouldn't pay more than scrap value for it. especially since it's probably as rough on the inside as it is on the outside.

don't let the bigger tires fool you into paying more. i don't think it is lifted, just cut up... a lot.

where is it at? is it at least out of the rust belt?

4WD4EVER Sep 3, 2015 07:46 AM

I wouldn't give more than $300.00 max for that. Just judging from the pix, it looks pretty well thrashed and worn-out. Expect to sink a lot of time/energy/money into it.

Edit: Yeah, I'm going to do an about-face here and agree w/ the others. I'd pass.

Colonel Panic Sep 3, 2015 07:47 AM

Yeah judging by the clearance between the tank and the bottom of that bumper, it's not lifted outside of the tires being larger.

Like Caged said, I wouldn't go near it either, you could do better but if you REALLY think you can save that thing, just make sure you go over it with a fine tooth comb otherwise it'll leave you out in the cold before you even get it home.

Yikes, that thing looks wretched.

I'd give the guy a couple hunnert assuming the unibody is not ratted out. Then I'd go jump it until something really bad happened.

Hell no! Unless it's only $100 and you plan on entering it straight into a demolition derby.
The gentleman straddling the front end looks like he's already rode it hard and put it away wet.

sycoglitch Sep 3, 2015 08:16 AM

The picture of the guy straddling it does bring it all together. But honestly, lets say that thing actually might be lifted, I'd put money its done very very wrong and you'd be spending more money undoing all that and doing it back. Now if that thing was to be a donor jeep or you needed a good condition 2 door for you to swap good part too that you own already, it may be worth it. If its a project car, nah.

Honestly that thing is not worth the gas to go look at if its free.

$1500?

Man, run away as fast as you can. Look at the rocker panels, that thing is about as solid as a patch of quicksand.

It's worth the cost of the beers you would drink while you had fun smashing it for a YouTube video.

Save yourself the heartache and regret here chief. Just walk away as if you never saw it and keep looking.

Lol. Simple. Blocks. IMHO, shackles on stock leafs. Maybe doing an actually full leaf lift hut then not doing the proper trac bar. So many different ways

Well i would buy it for 200-300 if you plan to use it as a trail rig and have the money to put into it. maybe 500 if the 4x4 and everything works but you will be replacing alot in it for sure.
