I would suggest you use tire deflators. Do all 4 at the same time, automatically.

I had some of those, they're like 20 each. They keep walking away. Ideally, an onboard compressor would be nice.
Anyways, didn't mean to hijack thread

i will when something needs replaced. i need about 6 more hours in a day as it is, i try not to work on stuff unless necessary. i frequently have things like LQ4s & 4L80s in the back, yes you can fit both...and a 5.3 longblock too if you’re good. the first time i did that on the stock leaves it stuffed the back tires so bad i thought the jeep was gonna stop when i hit a bump.

edit: it honestly doesn’t ride terrible now. or maybe i’m accustomed to it. i never expected the AAL to last so long. according to this website they fail after only minutes of use.

I've sampled Goodyear tire products for over 40 years now, including the Wrangler product for my Jeeps. From Wingfoots on my 69 Camaro to Wranglers on my WJ, and all in between.
I am less than satisfied with wear, wear patterns, durability, grip.
Big company, big advertising and distribution, only moderate performance.
If your 80% on road in a Jeep, BFG T/A's AT, very good grip and wear like iron, more than fair price.
Toyo is my current second choice, also based on good experiences.
My 2 cents.

^^ I agree with the BFG AT's... I ran those on my Toyota 4x4's for years and got tons of miles and good balance of on and off-road grip too. Only problem with them is the price.
But you do get what you pay for with them.

Well bit the bullet and bought a set of hankook optimo h724 but 196 dollars shipped without mounting is pretty good atm for me although they arent aggressive itll do the job because i blew a tire on the highway and ran my jeep right off the road, So towed to my job i had another americus classic 787 that was sitting in my back yard mounted i brought it over and had them put it on and go figure death wobble the moment i hit 55 mph *sighs* but what would you expect from a tire from 2011. My death wobble atm seems to go away with new tires and only shows up when they get very worn or old.... But until a few months i am gonna get the front end rebuilt with moog parts

wonder if im gonna get to the 70k mile warranty.... *pokes* can i even go in grass?

LOL.... as long as the grass is dry I think you're safe...hee hee.
Seriously though.. no worries... we've all been there.... something happens (usually not at a convenient time) and we have to go with what we can afford "atm" and isn't always what we would choose if we had piles of cash just layin' around collecting dust.

Where this thread started with the Wranglers.... That's what I have... the PO of mine had put a brand new set on less than 3 months before selling it. So far they've done pretty good for a "crap" tire. Just did a 1000 mile one way road trip through all kinds of weather including snow, ice, and sand.... and handled quite well actually. And gripped quite well in super windy conditions pushing the "brick" pretty hard in a number of stretches of the trip.
Still a crap tire? yes... but these crap tires did everything I asked of them very solid.

Yup! some cheap tires surprise others lol. Some have their issues and moments with them and their opinions i dont mean to start a fight at all or argument i mean jeepers LOVE tires and to find a gem in the rough is priceless. These arent to bad at all. Theyre black and round. They dont make me jeep shake with death wobble but it still shakes at 60+ sadly but that i think was from the death wobble damaging more parts.... but i gotta get used to them my old tires had a thicker sidewall and was snappy in terms of turning where these kinda feel mushy like a bias ply tire and takes a second to respond but man the treads were deeper than i thought 11/32nds of tread and shockingly they are very quiet on the road and soaks up the bumps they do not make a sound at speed and small cracks or bumps typically soaks it up and gives a soft thump instead of a violent BOOM. Overall you want a cheap tire these arent a bad choice imo so far well see with age. just shy under 300 dollars for these out the door with road hazard as well with my discount. I have yet to see what theyre like in the rain alot of people say they are good and alot say they utterly suck but it seems they are all in lighter cars maybe a little more weight and they push down in the rain more. And shockingly people say these do good in snow. I know the wranglers were 300 out the door but thats without road hazard and id rather be covered i may have spent a little more than i wanted but its good to have peace of mind if i ever get a nail in it or something repairs are free if walmart cant fix it 10 bucks out the door for a new tire at a certain time span or tread depth but 70k mile treadlife i cant complain either. So overall im impressed with them but then again these are literally my first brand new set of tires instead of throwing used old crap on my poor jeep. The tire i mounted was out of round and shook my jeep so badly with death wobble my steering feels a tad bit more loose now sadly which hurts a little inside knowing i hurt my poor buddy.

Edit: Oh i am kinda afraid to see how these do in the wind as my old tires didnt fare the wind to well and typically pushed me around these are softer sidewall tires so i think im gonna have a good surprise when it does lol. But what jeep doesnt scare the owner in the wind its like driving a big sailboat!.... without sway bars lol

Bold by bold
1. I would hope not
2. That's a pretty standard tread depth
3. P metric tires are usually pretty damn soft, so all act like this. And the tread is not aggressive at all so they will be quiet.
4. I doubt they are all too great in snow. Tread careful man.
5. I thought you worked at wal mart tire center? They charge you the full amount?

as long as your happy with your purchase is all that counts man any plans to loft your jeep?

I got my discount but yes gotta still pay full price if i didnt use it.... cheap walmart ways, And it doesnt snow in florida just shocked some people reported they did well but their version may be different than what i think lol. and it may be i was just surprised for a touring all season it was as deep as that or maybe its because im so used to sport tires and that also the picture looked deceiving. And i been thinking about it while my initial young ways wanted to lift it till it touched stop lights i slowly became more and more eh frugal plus i drove a lifted cherokee similar to what i was gonna do and tbh i did not enjoy driving it to much mostly because it didnt have power steering and it just felt very sluggish. It was a 97 cherokee i drove 1000 miles in and at 50 mph that thing was so tiring and obnoxious to drive. So i may stick closer to stock parts while i want to do the upcountry lift im gonna see what new leaf springs and front springs do because i dont off road as much as i would like and maybe keep it a low slung off roader as i dont do rock crawling lol. Id rather get limited or locking diffs in it with better tires for off roading then a winch but atm ignoring the wobble it is actually a decent quiet comfy ride and the seats are just right for my back so itll stay a weekend warrior and nothing insane i may get flak for it but oh well tis my jeep and i dont care what others think lol. I care about this one to much but in the future i will maybe get a beater jeep for this reason because the second time i went off roading i almost flipped it..... so this one would be my cruiser and the other one my off road toy

Agreed... we all use our Jeeps for slightly different duty. So whatever does the trick for what we need and/or can afford at the time a new set of shoes is needed. And a set of those will definitely give a nicer, more comfortable ride....and with that pattern, maybe even a little better mpg.

And with this thread... I'm still impressed with the Wranglers for being a crap tire that most agree that they are.
I just finished a near 1000 mile one way road (moving) trip with them.. and so far I've had them in dry, wet, snow, sand, dirt, high winds, pretty much everything except mud... and they've handled quite well for a "crap" tire. I had the XJ loaded down with as much as I could fit in it... (which was a decent amount)... and even in spite of the high winds, bad weather at times, she still averaged 21 mpg at 70-75mph on the highways. Makes me think I'm going to run these puppies until I start the suspension mods.
