OH, NO!!! They told me not to do it but I did it anyway...
I installed E3 Spark Plugs! This was part of a complete tune up.
So after 2000 miles here is the performance report:
Normal.
I could detect nothing extraordinary (other than the general better running from doing a good tune up:cap, rotor, wires, clean IAC, throttle body etc).
And none of the bad stuff that many (all over the internet) report from using E3 plugs.
No magic. No bad, either.
This was an experiment. Rock Auto had them on a disco sale for little more than Champions so I bought them just for fun.
One thing I did do along with the tune up was change both O2 sensors. Neither were throwing codes, but they were also 20 years old. Some say there might be a slight gain in fuel economy from this. But it is hard to tell, since the E3 plugs already give me 45 mpg.
(I'm a Volkswagen engineer by night).
