Default Newbie first post: Tire size question

Hello everyone. I am new here and this is my first post and I could use some advice. I own a 2000 Cherokee Sport and I need to get new tires for it. It still wears the original stock tires which are 225/75/15 in size. I wouldn't mind going with a larger tire and have a couple of questions. I would like to know how big of a tire can I put on the original factory wheels? They are 15 inch in diameter but I don't know what the width is. If I were to go with an aftermarket wheel, how tall of a tire could I put on it without having to use a lift kit? Is a 31" tire too big without lifting it? The reason I ask is I may be able to get a set of 31" dia. 15" tires for a good price and they are mounted on aftermarket rims already. And lastly, I know a larger tire size will affect the accuracy of the speedometer reading. How do you determine which speedo gear is needed to correct the discrepancy and where would I be able to purchase one? Thanks in advance for your help.

The largest you can do is 30 x 9.5 if you don't want to do any trimming. You could run 31s but you'll get rubbing.

i ran 31s stock for about 6 months. youll do fine as long as you dont have people in it all the time. otherwise youll rub goin over a pebble. how ever they will rub on turns and heavy bumps. if you're not planning to lift might wanna trim some. but if you dont wanna trim you might wanna do 30's. and if they are your stock rims then they are 10.50R15's i have a 200 cherokee sport as well haha
