My oil analysis report
First ever oil analysis report.
The comment section says:
"Lead, silicon, and fuel are the three things to talk about in this report, and none of them are so far out of line that we think there's a problem. The lead shows just a little bit of bearing wear, but it's just barely out of the average range. The averages for this engine type show typical lead at about 2 ppm after 4,000 miles on the oil. Silicon could show dirt in the oil (unless it's from sealers), so check for air filter issues. The fuel is probably operational in nature -- at a trace level it's harmless. All else looks great, so this is still a good report overall. Try 7,000 mi."
Any way to bring down the lead levels, which the report says is bearing wear?
Also, they say at the end "Try 7,000 mi," does that mean they say to change the oil at 7,000 mile interval instead of 5,500 like I did?
Thanks.

I don't think a 3ppm bump over their averages (which are averages for 1500 less miles than you put on the oil) is anything to worry about it. It's going to take some more oil analysis on this specific engine/Jeep to know what's really going on in there. If you start seeing lead or other bearing materials starting to trend upwards you know you may need to budget for a bearing replacement or engine rebuild. And they are saying to try a 7k mile oil change next instead of 5500. That's up to you.
Put your jeep on a regular schedule for oil analysis and get some more data and go from there.
