Hey all. I just dove in and bought a 98 Sport. I'm quite happy with my find:
So today I came home and was getting some things out of the back. I shut the tailgate and the trim piece covering the license plate light just...shattered!
Soo I believe the part is 5FL86TRM. I see some on Ebay, and I'm going to check around at some junkyards. I just wondered if there was any kind of cool delete or mod for this before I just replace it.

I dont know of any mods for the license plate lamp trim. I can’t imagine anything getting the 1-up on it as far as looks or functionality. Should be a rather easy fix though when the part comes in.

The only thing that comes to mind is maybe putting the chrome one on that some of the higher end XJ's came with. They also had the chrome grill and headlight bezels.
Personally I don't like them though.
