oh im definitely gonna take pics! and yes thats what is great about jeeps, you can do so much with them and they are so versatile. hmmm i didnt even thing about the windows. any ideas for that?

 

That screen door mesh would work fine. Just gotta find a way to get it to fit tight.

For the windows use some pieces of screen and a bunch of refrigerator magnets to hold 'em on

 

Unless there is a tornado coming, I would rather be in a tent.

 

Maybe make it able to clip on the bumper and go right over the matress

 

i was gonna glue magnents to the bottom of the screen so it would attatch to the bumper. this screen will definitly not be a perfect seal but it will be a lot better then nothing

 

I got you, maybe you could rig a portable glad dispenser to shoot out mosquito spray

 

The only time I have was when I was to drunk to stand. So I fumbled around untill the back seat folded down and passed out halfway in my sleeping bag. Was a fun story to tell

 

K this might sound girly to you guys, but I have a wrangler, and in the summer when takin the hard top off I dont like the bikini thing cuz I love the sun, so I went to walmart and got this sheer like material and made a sunshade to keep from getting too burnt. So that gave me an idea for my grand cherokee, being my lil one and I would go on road trips too, and like OP we use air matress in some places, the material was like $3.87 a yd and I got about 6 yds. And some self adhesive velcro. And made a wrap around netting which drapped over the matress. Here is a pic of the sun shade in the wrangler, its fairly cheap and to make, even the mesquito net was. Sorry dont have any pics of the cherokee, but I can if ya want PM or detail it in here for you.

 

Just cut the netting about six inches larger than the hatch opening then stitch in flexible magnetic strips around the perimeter. Simple, easy and cheap. To permanent modifications to the Jeep either.

Lol! The velcro is hidden in the under part of the hatch and is like onle $5 and the best part is the sheer like material comes in all sorts of colors..

 

think I'll just be making some sort of tent that I can hook up to my roof rack, and just use an air mattress to sleep on.

 

Screen, strip of magnet material you can get at walmart, or pretty much any craft store. Magnets stick to metal on outside of jeep, done.

 

im starting to think using a tarp might be easier but then it will be hotter
